Your wordplay is beautiful; the sacrifice at the beginning brutal as it must be, and Psyche's description of madness--you might have glided through alabaster palaces in a dream, and feasted on phoenix and leviathan. is honestly tempting, not even taking into consideration Kate's other woes. Also that last line, with its meta (!) and parallels between the two (!!), just slays me. I am overwhelmed at having inspired what is clearly the best Sunday fifteen ever :D. (And oh, I absolutely understand :) I....might be feverishly finishing up/editing rarewomen stuff myself *cough* and mournfully eyeing all the treats I wanted to write but couldn't finish in time.)
