Knights-Errant

It has swashbuckling mercenaries swashbuckling their way across Renaissance-ish Europe-ish, with angsty backstories and loads of sibling and quasi-sibling feelings. Also pretty art.

. . . Also it has a cast of characters with diverse ethnicities and sexualities, but I'm reluctant to bring that up because a) some of it is spoilers and b) that makes it sound like issuefic (or, well, issue-original-comics) and it doesn't read like that to me at all. But I have brought it up anyway, so.

And what do we do when we archive binge on an awesome comic? We write smut!

A Mercenary Gets It Where He Can

Note: Canon is, as I said above, Fallen Angels, which was a late-eighties spinoff of New Mutants, which itself was (and is again, I understand) a spinoff of X-Men. However, I'm just taking Fallen Angels itself as canon and ignoring the rest, especially anything after the mid-nineties which I probably haven't read. This is set a few years after the series. So, uh, at least it's not underage on top of everything else?

When we love people (or fictional characters) for themselves, logically we must love them most when they are being most themselves.

It therefore follows that the sexiest possible Sherlock Holmes/John Watson story is one which treats their growing relationship as an exercise in deduction.

If you're not convinced by my reasoning, I urge you to examine the evidence:

I should add that although I am of course familiar with Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in many of their incarnations, I have never seen the BBC's Sherlock, which is the canon that this story is based on. It's possible that I would appreciate it more had I seen the show, so perhaps it's just as well that I haven't, as my appreciation for this story is approaching dangerous levels as it is.

I'm working on my detective story, I promise, but in the meantime this happened instead.
